Morning pickup from Arusha. Drive 130 km to Tarangire National Park — Tanzania's elephant kingdom. Enormous herds congregate along the Tarangire River, and the ancient baobab landscape is unlike anywhere else on Earth.

Afternoon game drive: elephants, lions, leopards, wild dogs, cheetah and over 550 bird species. Overnight at Suricata Boma Lodge.

Early morning drive in Tarangire, then head 85 km to Lake Manyara National Park. Famous worldwide for its tree-climbing lions, Manyara also offers dense groundwater forest, thousands of flamingos on the alkaline lake and superb birding on the Rift Valley floor.

Full afternoon in Manyara — seek out the famous lions in acacia trees, hippos in forest pools and enormous cape buffalo herds. Comfortable night at Suricata Boma Lodge.

After a morning Manyara drive, head north through the Ngorongoro highlands into the Serengeti. Enter through the southern gate and begin afternoon game drives across the world's most famous savannah.

The Serengeti's endless plains support over 1.5 million wildebeest, 700,000 zebra and countless predators. Tanzania Bush Camps provides comfortable accommodation right in the heart of the wildlife action.

A full uninterrupted day in the Serengeti — the highlight of any Tanzania safari. Rise before dawn for the magical sunrise across the plains, then spend the entire day following your guide to wherever the wildlife action is most intense.

Witness cheetah hunts, lion prides with cubs, leopards draped over acacia branches and massive crocodiles lurking in the Mara River (seasonal). The Great Migration, one of nature's greatest spectacles, is possible throughout much of the year in different parts of the Serengeti. Evening sundowner before returning to camp.

Final morning in the Serengeti — a dawn drive to catch predators in the golden light. Then drive east 135 km to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area, ascending through Maasai lands and misty highland forest.

Ngorongoro Kuhama Camp sits on the crater rim at over 2,300 metres — dine with spectacular views of the caldera below. The star-filled sky and the calls of hyenas rising from the crater floor create an unforgettable atmosphere.

Sunrise from the crater rim — one of Africa's most breathtaking views. After breakfast, descend into the crater for a full morning among the 30,000 animals in this 260 sq km wildlife arena.

All Big Five in a concentrated space: rare black rhino, huge elephant bulls, lion prides, leopards and spotted hyenas. Flamingos on Lake Magadi complete the picture. Picnic lunch crater-side, then ascend and drive 185 km back to Arusha arriving late afternoon.
