A mid-range safari package typically includes accommodations in comfortable lodges or tented camps, meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner), park entrance fees, transportation in a safari vehicle, and the services of an experienced guide. Some packages may also include activities such as guided walks or cultural experiences.
The best time for a mid-range safari in Tanzania largely depends on your wildlife viewing goals. The dry season, from June to October, is ideal for spotting animals as they gather around water sources. However, the green season (November to May) offers lush landscapes and the opportunity to witness the Great Migration in the Serengeti.
Essential items for a mid-range safari include lightweight, breathable clothing in neutral colors, a wide-brimmed hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, a good camera, binoculars, and insect repellent. Don’t forget personal toiletries, a reusable water bottle, and any necessary medications. Layered clothing is recommended for varying temperatures, especially during early mornings and evenings.
Mid-range safaris are generally suitable for travelers of all fitness levels. While game drives are conducted in comfortable vehicles, some activities, such as guided walking safaris or hikes, may require moderate physical effort. It’s advisable to consult with your safari operator regarding any specific physical requirements for your itinerary.
Yes, many mid-range safari packages are family-friendly and can accommodate travelers of all ages. Lodges and camps often provide family rooms or interconnected accommodations and may offer tailored activities for children. However, it’s important to check with your safari operator about age restrictions and suitable activities for younger travelers to ensure an enjoyable experience for the whole family.

I would recommend Katambuga for your tours in East Africa because they make you feel comfortable and have the best of every moment with them. Once again thank you to the crew members for your guidance and support.Blessing!!!! Thierry Mounir2019-05-25Verified 3 days safari in Ngorongoro and Serengeti It was amazing! The guide was excellent! He could spot the animals and explain us the different scenes that we observed in the parks. The food that the cook prepared was good and the tents in which we slept were really okay, even though the mattresses were not the best. The cook was in charge of installing the tents and packing them, it was really enjoyable to not have to care about that. I would recommend to take some warm clothes for the night at the ngorongoro park, it can get really cold! Overall, everything was nicely organized and we really enjoyed the safari. We might have been lucky with the weather and the animals / scenes that we could see. What a wonderful experience!
